    Nude! Vegan!

I might be getting in over my head with this, but I'm trying to build a new web site that's like Vegan Represent meets Suicide Girls. Tastefully photographed nude or enticingly-clad vegans are what I want on the site, and every model would have their own live journal. I have never built a web site before, and am going through books to figure out what I'm doing. I don't even have any models yet, so this will be a long time in the making. To get an idea of what I'm trying to do, visit the Suicide Girls web site. I want to make this site to show people that vegans aren't sickly waifs wasting away. We're sexy and strong! Also, I've always loved pinup photography, especially vintage (I worship Bettie Page and have at least a thousand images of her on my computer).

I forgot to say in the thread I just posted that this is what I want to call the web site.

One look at Alicia Silverstone let me know years ago that vegans aren't sickly waifs wasting away.

    Like Vegan Porn?

I hadn't visited their site, but wondered whether that was anything like what you had in mind...having taken a peek, I'd say--not! If you haven't looked at the Vegan Porn site, you might enjoy seeing the most recent Google searches that have resulted in "hits" for them; I didn't realize that sites could record that sort of thing!

    I love SG!

Don't have much advice to offer you... Have you checked out this site http://www.vegporn.com/ by one of our very own VRF'ers? I think that may be similar to what you're talking about...

Sorry, but that doesn't take away from her hotness one bit.

I would suggest starting with a friendly e-mail/PM to vegporn to touch base.

Are you looking to do this just for fun, or as a business?

SG has done this well for many reasons. one of those reasons is the name. to be brutaly honesty, i think "vegangrrrls.com" will have no mass appeal. it sounds like a 14 year old girl playing around with a typo in computer class.

somethine raw and dangerous and dark but pink with .xXxVegan.CorexXx. all over it(know what i mean?) no wait, i'm thinking about suicide girls vegie thread. why not change the name and meaning to the opposit of "suicide"?
The noun suicide has 2 senses (first 1 from tagged texts)

    1. (3) suicide, self-destruction, self-annihilation -- (the act of killing yourself)
    2. suicide, felo-de-se -- (a person who kills himself intentionally)

so something foccusing on the preservation of life, living your life, intentionaly living your life well.
this takes good direction and i'm out of idea. (throws the idea to the next person)

a good friend of mine is currently working on her SG profile... i've considered posing since i'm in ny now.
you have an awesome idea, i really think you're onto something...have you visited vegporn yet? am i correct to assume you're looking to accomplish something 'suicide girls-meet-vegporn' with the networking and profiles function of SG?

i'm thinking of posing too, cause there's a location in portland where you can go to get photographed. half of me is all, "i'm gunna do it, how cool!" but then i get all shy...

    hah, yes
    shyness=exactly my reason for delay
i've posed nude before... for local photographers, fine artists, etc. and one photographer when i lived in indiana who was working on a project with dancers (classical, NOT exotic, just to clarify )
BUT the internet? WAY more public. i'd definitely use a fake name.

i hear ya'! i feel like if it was for a local mag or something, i'd have lots less hesitation. but being on the internet... whoa! talk about "out there," heh. plus, it's a super popular site... so yeah.

but wouldn't you both want to be responsible for the popularity and growth of a super cool new vegan site?
