    Holy crap! Holy crap!

    Hi All,

I have an interview at PETA at the end of the month! From talking with the PETA folks it sounds like they are very interested in hiring me, and unless I make a total fool of myself at the (three-day long) interview, I'll be working for PETA as soon as September! Woo hoo!

I'm incredibly happy about this... animal rights work is what I love, and I think I would love love love this job. I'm also incredibly sad to be leaving Madison, my family, and my best friend. I've been alternating between smiling so much my face hurts and bawling my head off. Ain't change grand? Anyway, I just wanted to share.

Good luck with the interview, VeganUU.
I sympathize with your mixed feelings, and I am sure you will be delighted with working at PETA.

May peace and joy be with you.

Holy crap is right! That's amazing news. 'Course, as much as you'll miss things here, you're gonna be sorely missed here as well. Selfish agenda disclosure: along with being a good friend and stalwart sister in the AR/veg community here, VUU was signed up to volunteer with the feral cat program where I've been volunteering for a while. We've always had barely enough volunteer resources, and many of our volunteers have been, well, marginally competent. I was looking forward to having somebody with your enthusiasm and ability to do a good job on board. D@mn!

I can't help but wish you the best of luck, and there's no doubt you'll kick butt for PETA. But you will be missed. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the support and congrats everybody! Madpogue, I'm gonna work on getting other students involved in the feral cat program... have no fear!

My mom and I went shopping for interview clothes last night. They make me feel so grown up and fasionable. Call my crazy, but I kind of like business casual.

I'm currently answering elaborate and complex questions posed to me by the director of vegan outreach. I tore apart a PETA campaign from a feminist perspective earlier today in one of my responses, and now he wants to have a phone conversation. Hope he appreciates honest and opinionted people!! I'll keep you posted.
