I'm from southwestern Ontario
yay!!!! I'm in Burnaby! I have another Vegan friend in Vancouver and I've tried to convince her to join this site, but she has yet to do so!! I will attempt again!
Awesome! Have you gone to any of the Earthsave dineouts or potlucks, or the Veg Meetups? There's a Meetup tonight at Green Lettuce Eatery, and meetups tend happen about every month or so. Same with the Earthsave events. Everyone we've met so far has been really nice![]()
We just moved here from Toronto in the fall, so we have relied on these types of events to make friends. And it's worked!
again! sig-free!
yay! i joined the meetups thingy!!! sounds fun!!! i'll have to bring my friend with me!!
I just watched Michael Moore's film Sicko. It made me want to retire to southwestern Canada (where I might be able to tolerate the climate.)
Maybe I could find a girl there who would marry me (in name only) so I can get citizenship in exchange for being named as my beneficiary.
Any takers?

Or you could just marry a Michigander and sneak across the border every so often. (Didn't someone in the movie do that?)
Someone in the film went to Canada for free health care treatment and claimed to be the common law wife of a male friend who lived there. (And people do that all the time for low cost medicine.)
I would rather be a dual citizen. I don't like the way the U.S. health care system is controlled by insurance companies which are more interested in profit than real care for people.
Yeah, but my solution has the advantage of you getting to marry a Michigander.![]()
Planning to move back to Michigan after college are you?
Of course! But that's beside the point, which is simply that MI is the best state EVAR and it's beyond me why anyone wouldn't want to live there.
ETA: Yay for Canada!
