In case Seattlites/Surrouding VRFers are interested, either for yourself or to join us (open invitation!):

On Thanksgiving Day:
Wayward Cafe :smitten: is having 3 seatings for their Thanksgiving meal.
$25 for adults, $5 for kids!
Nanashi, Miso Lite and I will be at the 4:00 seating; there's also 6 and 8 pm.

Bamboo Garden is also having a Thanksgiving Dinner, on UnTurkey Day.

Next day, Friday the 24th:
Chaco Canyon's much celebrated raw vegan Thanksgiving meal
$35 for adults
Nanashi, Vegit-8, Mamaquilla and I will be having dinner at 4:30 pm.
Most seating times are taken, but if you'd like to join us I can probably add to our reservation.

So, we just stuffed ourselves stoopid at Wayward Cafe

Hot apple cider
mini bread loaf, olive oil w/ olives
salad with toasted walnuts
soup: choice of pumkin tomato or pasta fagioli
mushrooms stuffed with couscous risotto topped with sundried tomatoes
roasted root veggies w/ toasted kale
main entree: tofu loaf stuffed with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus, cranberry sauce
home-made soy nog
pie: choice of pumpkin, apple, pecan or sweet potato

And we'll repeat the embarrassment tomorrow at Chaco Canyon.

Vegit-8, can you aim to be at to our house by 4?

OMG, now that was fine dining.
I so thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and the company was wonderful. We were served by the owner of Chaco Canyon, all dressed up with a tie and everything. His service was served up with dry humour and good will.
I loved absolutely everything including a good part of mamaquilla's meal. She is such a great sport and I encourage her to come out to all our adventurous vegan meals so that I can graze off her plate. :silly:
The salad was esthetically very pleasing with a lovely combination of colours, and it was delicious. It was perked up with a lovely dressing and the candied hazelnuts were fab.
The sorbet was perfect for refreshing the palate. It was served in little apertif type glasses with a bit of fresh mint. Tart and sweet set off by the mint. Hmmmmm.
The entree was delightful. The 'turkey' was a nutty/seedy thing with a lovely flavour and texture that went beautifully with the creamy parsnip/pinenut whip ( in place of traditional mashed potato ), and the chutney was colourful, sweet, and morish.
Now one of the bonuses for nanashi and I was that both mamaquilla and Miso Vegan cannot abide brussel's sprouts. I thought they were great, and the more the merrier. Yay for instant leftovers.
I chose the Pumpkin Coconut Mousse Tart, as did mamaquilla and nanashi, and nanashi and I both complemented ours with the hemp nog. A truly excellent combination.
I have so much to be thankful for...not least of which is having met such wonderful friends as Miso Vegan, nanashi, and mamaquilla through VRF. :)

Scroll up for the details. This is the soup 'n' salad, the main entree, and the sorbet. I may have forgotten to take a pic of the dessert, or they're still on my phone. Yes, these are cell phone pictures, or in other words, crappy.
