Miso powder...?

I love miso but I've always bought it in paste form, which I assumed was it's natural form.. is the powdered stuff just dehydrated paste?

Anyway, I bought an ounce.. So if no one knows anything about the powder I'll be experimenting blindly.. I'll report the results :)

Did you buy it from a tinnie house ? and did it come wrapped in tin foil ? just better hope you don't get busted by the Police :D

I think it's a tan colored powder..

The big bag of peppermint, on the other hand, could easily be mistaken for something illegal.

Is it possible that what you bought is instant miso soup powder? I've seen instant miso soup powder (usually chock full of MSG) but not pure powdered miso.
