Hi,
Well, I guess it started when I was 6 or 7. I stopped killing bugs
around then, and at some point read about how veal was made,
so I stopped eating that too. I've always liked animals, more
than people in most cases. :)
When I was 11, money was short in the family, and my mother
was suggesting my father fish for some extra money. I got
upset, and said I wasn't going to eat ANYTHING. Since that
was a little hard to stick with, I tempered it to "I'm not going
to eat meat". Shortly after that, I chopped eggs from my
diet.
As time went on, I got stricter. Never would eat anything
unless I KNEW it didn't have any meat or egg in it. Stopped
eating cheeses with animal rennet too.
After about 10-11 years of being a vegetarian, I recently
went vegan (finding an edible-tasting soymilk really helped!)
around Christmas last year.
And that's about it.
