:o Wow! Way to go budda. Now I'm feeling like I need to get off my butt and do something. :D
I'm going to try to start running again this week, mainly to help relieve some of the stress that I've been under. Hope you all don't mind an extra hamster. :)

Yay spidermonkey! Glad to see you here in this thread. :)

Budda- wow!!! You are one fit hamster to be able to do that! Was that for a charity ride?

Hey Budda-

You get that runner's high? (or biker's high :silly: ) Whenever I ride long distances, I about die until my endorphins kick in. This the greatest distance you've ever ridden?

Hamsters:

Let's be motivated and have an awesome week. I'm hitting the gym at 6am tomorrow!! Grrr!! :angry2:

I always get a runners high. But today nothin. I really bonked around 85 miles. Took about 8 miles to get through it. When I arrived at the finish I was pretty spent. Felt a little light-headed...more then usuall:) I got off the bike and sat down..bad move should have walked. Today is my longest ride..I stoped once to get a gatorade refill about a minute. I ate cliff bars will riding...Just like Lance! :)

Im not as fit as I thought, this ride showed me a few things I need to work on..It going to be one hamstering winter for this dragon. It was a charity ride for Hostelling International.

9 mile run.

Way to go Budda! We all have things to learn when we push our bodies to do these things. Don't worry about bonking. I'm sure you won't let it happen next time. :)

Got up at 5:30--went to the gym and worked pecs, lats and triceps. I worked all three to failure and my arms feel like spaghetti! Grr!

Budda--that jog will energize you. Whenever I'm sore and tired, a workout always fixes that.

Today for me-

treadmill incline work, 1/2 hour
stretching, 10 minutes

Plus, about a 15 minute walk with the family, but I don't really consider that hamstering. Just soul soothing. :)

I skipped exercise yesterday; I had a LOOOONG day. I only had 4.5 servings of fruits and veggies, if that's any indication.

Anyway, today I am making up for it.

15 min. stationary bike, 33 min. elliptical

50 min. yoga, body conditioning

spidermonkey
09-28-2004, 06:20 PM
:umm: This week isn't going too well. My only form of exercise right now is taking the stairs everywhere around the hospital. I'm in the middle of one of my toughest rotations right now (blood bank), and finding time to exercise is hard. By the time I get home, I'm so wiped out that I just want to go to sleep. It's a vicious cycle...stressed out, exercise relieves stress, no time to exercise, get more stressed out and discouraged. :(

Spider-- Hang in there...just make sure you're supplementing with good nutrition

This morning: resist. training: Hams, Quads and Calves...also worked biceps and shoulders--60 min. total

15 minute walk with my dog

I am starting to excersize again! I did Pilates two days in a row this week <yay>! I also take the stair from my parking structure to work and back everyday (5-6 flights each time)

Thanks for the encouragement clusswoman and mountainvegan.

Hang in there, spidermonkey, just like your cool avatar. That made me smile. :)
:sleepy: I'm planning to go to bed soon, but tomorrow I'll get up at 4 AM to run a little. I don't want to over do it cause I'm planning to give blood tomorrow as well. I'll let ya all know how the running goes tomorrow night.

Great job today everyone! You are all truly my inspiration right now. I will somehow find time to exercise and take care of myself. :)

Have had family visiting from out of town for an extended weekend, threw my schedule all out of wack. Got back on track today though :)

1 hour & 20 minutes Yoga, focused on balance & grounding postures
30 minutes running around/climbing/monkey bar-ing at the playground with my 5 year old son ...they should make grownup size jungle gyms, those monkey bars are rough on the arms ;)

I have a bad headache, so I'm taking a rest day today. Great week so far, everyone! And spidermonkey, don't despair! Taking a break for a while doesn't hurt, as long as it doesn't turn into weeks or months. :)

4 mile run.

Well, it was supposed to be a 4 mile run. More like a 3 mile run, 1 mile of walking trying not to puke.

The fall bug is going around my classroom. Looks like I caught it.

Hey clusswoman I like your dog pic for your avatar but I much rather see your picture! Which reminds me. Ive never seen a picture of Capt. Swab. So I was thinking if it's possible we could all put up pics and try to combine them in a Hamster collage(SP?) What ya guys think????

Just hit the manage attachments button and then hit the browse button. Find the picture you want in your pewter ,hit open, then hit the upload button. Once everyone has a pic up we should be able to put them on one page...it will be to big to post here,I think. But we should be able to send them on email.
