Hello!:cartwheel:

I actually have been a member of VR since 2006, but with another name.

My original vegan story is here:, I hope!

I have been successfully vegan for close to 2 years now [I will admit to having a non-vegan item a time or two].

My family on the other hand is still omni, which bums me out, but I think it should be their decision & not something I force upon them.

On the up side, our entire family's eating habits as a whole have become much healthier. I've entirely cut out HFCS & hydrogenated oils, we eat organic whenever possible & the kids have actually started eating tofu & veggie burgers! So there has been some progress & there is still hope yet! :D

Thank you. :)

I tried to add the link, but that obviously failed. :umm: My previous user name was feistyfairie, so I guess you could look it up that way.

(here's the original story from Aug. 27 2006)

Well, let's see ...

I'm 33 years old & a SAHM of 4 children [ages 11, 5, 2 & 1].

I've been vegetarian since high school, which was [obviously] quite some time ago.

I've been trying [somewhat unsuccessfully] to transition into a vegan lifestyle for a few months now.

I'd say I'm about 90% there ... sometimes I slip up, not realizing [though I am learning a great deal] just how many products have hidden dairy.

Part of my difficulty comes from living in a house full of omni's.

The other part is my [slight] addiction to 'convenience' foods that I know are not good for me.

I'm really learning a lot from reading the 'What I Ate Today' thread.

It's given me a lot of good ideas on better, healthier, vegan choices.

I figure, at least I'm trying & not giving up!
