View Full Version : Viva Las Vegas!

Hello guys and gals!
I'm off to Las Vegas in less than a month to check out a concert and have some fun. (I don't drink much, nor do I gamble... Vegas fun for me is taking pictures of the city and the surrounding desert. Ah, I'm such a nerd!) Aaaanywho...
I checked out vegdining and was only able to come up with two veggie restaurants in the area. It's better than nothing, so I'm not going to complain! ;) However, I was wondering if anyone out there maybe knows of a few good places to eat, or can point me in the right direction to finding more places? Also, any suggestions for good places to grab bite along the way would be welcome, as it looks like we'll be driving.
I want to have fun being vegan in Vegas! :D

I went to vegas last year and ran into no problems finding places with vegan food! I stayed on the strip, and didn't make it to any all vegetarian restaurants, but the restaurants in the casinos always had a least a couple of veg options. I remember the Aladdin Casino had a great buffet with losts of middle eastern (and other veg stuff). Mon Ami Gabi (a not so veg friendly place) did have a fantastic salad after asking them to leave off the cheese. There also was a fast food sushi place in the basement of Bally's with so-so sushi. Those are the places that stick out in my mind...if I remember anything else from my trip I'll be sure to post it! I'm not much of a gambler either, but the Wheel of Fortune slots were sure fun ! :D Hope you have a great time! Where will you be staying?

Thanks for the info jenbiz, I feel MUCH better about my trip now! :D
Oh, and we're only going to be there for the weekend, so we're just going to stay wherever! For longer trips I make reservations, but for short trips I just play it by ear! ;)

Resurrecting an older thread. I'm heading to Las Vegas next month (June) for my 40th birthday. Same question. Anyone with any suggestions for good places to eat on the Strip?
Will definitely go back to the Aladdin buffet - it did have many veg*n options so was well worth it. But am looking for places where I can get some vegan protein - tofu? So, any suggestions for good asian cuisines where I might get some good vegan grub? Thanks in advance.

Just got back from Vegas. On the strip there are a few options:
- Il Fornaio @ New York New York has vegan minestrone and a vegan salad. Everything is made on site, and they are very good about answering questions.
- There are two PF Chang restaurants on the strip.
- Buffets in general are pretty good options.
- Most (if not all) of the "nicer" restaurants will do what ever they can to please you, if you ask.
Lastly, go to Ronalds Donuts & get yourself a dozen of vegan donuts.

gladcow, thanks for the response. I will definitely look into Il Fornaio. My wife has already mentioned wanting Italian food, so maybe that's where we'll end up.
I know one of the PF Chang's is at the Alladin. Where's the other one? We're staying at Bally's, which has a Chang's, with all of six vegetarian entrees.
Thanks for the tip about Ronald's Donuts. I saw that mentioned on one of the websites I found, but didn't give it much thought.
So far the best site I've found is an article titled "Surviving as a Vegetarian in Las Vegas" at http://vegasreference.com/vegas/vegetarian.html.
